Minutes of the special meeting
of the Centralia City Schools Board of Education, District No. 135, Marion, Clinton, Jefferson
and Washington Counties, Illinois,
held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 4:30 p.m., in the Administration Building,
400 South Elm Street,
Centralia, Illinois
62801.
Members Present: Ron Johnson,
Greg Dodson, Blake Griffin, Renae Bauer, Quinton Runyon, Sue Williams and Andre Marshall
Also Present: Supt. David Rademacher, Marla Webster,
Amanda Marshall, Lillian Marshall, and Albert Marshall
Board President Johnson called
the meeting to order at 4:31 p.m.
The
Board reviewed and accepted the canvass of the April 5, 2011, non-partisan
election returns.
MOTION #1:
It was moved by Dodson
and seconded by Runyon to adopt a resolution declaring Blake Griffin, Renae
Bauer, and Andre Marshall the winners of the April 5, 2011,
non-partisan election. Motion carried.
MOTION #2:
It was moved by Griffin and seconded by
Dodson to adjourn the meeting of the old Board of
Education “sine die”. Motion carried.
ORGANIZATION OF THE NEW BOARD OF EDUCATION
Blake Griffin, Renae Bauer
and Andre Marshall were seated as new board members.
Election of Board Officers
for two-year terms was held with the following results:
MOTION #3:
It was moved by Griffin and seconded by
Dodson to close the nominations for President of the Board of Education for a
two year term with Ron Johnson being the only nominee, and therefore, by
acclamation elected to President of the Board of Education. Motion carried.
MOTION #4:
It was moved by Dodson and
seconded by Williams to close the nominations for Vice-President of the Board
of Education for a two year term with Blake Griffin being the only nominee, and
therefore, by acclamation elected to Vice-President of the Board of Education. Motion carried.
MOTION #5:
It was moved by Dodson and seconded by Runyon to
close the nominations for Secretary of the Board of Education for a two year
term with Sue Williams being the only nominee, and therefore, by acclamation elected
to Secretary of the Board of Education.
Motion carried.
President Johnson
administered the oath to elected members Griffin,
Bauer, and Marshall.
MOTION #6:
It
was moved by Dodson and seconded by Griffin to
hold Board of Education meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00
p.m. in the Administration
Building. Motion carried.
MOTION #7:
It was moved by Dodson and seconded by Runyon to
employ Clifford Marshall and Charlie Brasel as temporary part-time summer
maintenance employees for the summer of 2011.
Motion carried.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Committee assignments will be
made before the next board meeting.
MOTION #8:
